It would be impossible to put into words, our gratitude for the Kuffel Family, whose generous donation of $1 million dollars, lays the foundation for this initiative. It is this initial contribution that shifts what was once an out-of-reach dream, to a tangible reality.
Jeannine and Louis Saurette so generously contributed $25,000 to create a family legacy with the Movement Centre’s Endowment Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation. This contribution alone will give The Centre minimum $1,250 annually… FOREVER. “Thank you Louis and Jeannine for your contribution as we work towards long-term sustainability for the Movement Centre of Manitoba” says Board Member, Olivia Doerksen.
Olivia Steadman has inspired the creation of this fund through her journey living with life altering challenges and overcoming adversity with resilience, hope and the support of the Movement Centre of Manitoba.
Drew was born with a never-diagnosed condition that affected his body, but never his mind. As his condition progressed, he lost most of his physical capabilities. Drew needed help negotiating his physical challenges and was truly blessed by the people who came into his life to fill this role including the team at the Movement Center of Manitoba.
Despite his physical limitations, he never lost his joy for life, quick wit, and oh, that smile. As his big brother Jonathon often said, “He is the bravest person I know.”
The Drew Murray Foundation was created as a way to honour Drew’s legacy and to support the centre so that kids and adults like him can live fulfilling and independent lives.
