The Movement Centre of Manitoba is a non-profit organization that is committed to improving the physical health of children and adults with physical disabilities. Through the teachings of “Conductive Education”, we strive to maximize the independence of our clients. We provide movement and learning opportunities with appropriate motivations and expectations, in order to overcome the challenges faced by the physically impaired population.

The Movement Centre of Manitoba is one of only two centres in North America to provide Conductive Education beyond school age and into adulthood.

Conductive Education is effective for those individuals with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, head injury, and Parkinson’ disease.

Currently Seeking Conductor

We are currently looking for a Conductor QCS (Teacher of Conductive Education) to start on a temporary basis. The start date is flexible, we are looking to hire someone to start between March 2nd, 2015 – June 15th, 2015. It requires 40 hours per week and includes a salary of $40,500 and $1,000 in health spending. University completion and a Conductive Education Degree is Mandatory. Experience is an asset. Must be fluent with English. Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are both mandatory. Must be able to handle a fast-paced work environment, be able to work under pressure, and handle physical demands such as crouching, kneeling, and lifting. Applicants must possess some computer, oral communication, problem solving, decision making, organizing and planning skills. The Movement Centre of Manitoba has been selected as the Charity Partner for Winn$tock 2015 – The 11th Annual Battle of Financial Industry Bands for Charity!

Last year, the 10th annual Winn$tock raised over $100,000! This year, we are hoping for more success than ever! Let’s get together to make that goal a reality! Winn$tock is a battle of the bands with competing members from Winnipeg’s Financial Industry. Tickets for 2015 are available now at www.winnstock.ca where you can also find more information!

Move ‘N Groove-a-Thon 2015 – May 2nd

Be a community leader and get involved in the fifth annual Move ‘N Groove-a-Thon. An all-inclusive 5 hour dance relay in support of Conductive Education at The Movement Centre of Manitoba.
