The Movement Centre of Manitoba is a non-profit organization that is committed to improving the physical health of children and adults with physical disabilities. Through the teachings of “Conductive Education”, we strive to maximize the independence of our clients. We provide movement and learning opportunities with appropriate motivations and expectations, in order to overcome the challenges faced by the physically impaired population.

The Movement Centre of Manitoba is one of only two centres in North America to provide Conductive Education beyond school age and into adulthood.

Conductive Education is effective for those individuals with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, head injury, and Parkinson’ disease.

Openings in our Program

We have some openings in our Fall Program. If interested, please visit our Adult’s Program or Children’s Program page to find our pre-assessment form. We will contact you to schedule an assessment once it’s received!

Staff Needed!

We have openings for part-time Conductor’s Assistants at The Movement Centre of Manitoba

We are seeking a couple individuals to work part time starting right away. Shifts would be on Tuesdays from 12:30 – 4 PM. Additional hours may be available.

Conductor’s Assistants are members of our team providing educational service to children and adults with physical disabilities. They assist in the ongoing support and maintenance of our Conductive Education program by assisting the Conductor and facilitating the learning of our clients.

You will work directly with children and adults with disabilities on an individual or small group setting. Must be comfortable working with persons who have physical disabilities and must be familiar with the challenges and issues that are of concern to our clients.

Must be willing to learn and be flexible in order to adapt to changes.

You will use your working knowledge of computers, word processing, and your understanding of children and adult education principles to facilitate groups, and facilitate appropriate skills and to assist the Conductors as required. You will also assist with basic administrative duties including the writing of reports and must remain current with health and safety issues.

Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are mandatory upon gaining employment.

13th Annual Golf Tournament – August 27th, 2015

Our 13th Annual Golf Tournament last week was a success! We had fantastic weather and raised over $75,000
for Conductive Education programs at our Centre!

We’d like to thank our outstanding event sponsors that contributed generously! We raised more money in sponsorship then we ever have before and are very appreciative!

We also thank the golfers who came out to Kingswood Golf and Country Club to join us for the great day, the volunteers who helped out in every aspect, our awesome golf committee for organizing our tournament, and the prize donors whom helped us create some amazing packages!

Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! 4 on 4 Tournament – May 16th – 17th, 2015

The Movement Centre of Manitoba was ecstatic to partner with ‘Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! 4 on 4 Tournament – Winnipeg’ in support of Conductive Education rehabilitation programs at our Centre! The event took place on May 16th and 17th on Chancellor Matheson Road near Investor’s Group Field. We had a fantastic time sharing about our Conductive Education programs while enjoying 2 jam packed days full of hockey. Congratulations to all the players, staff and volunteers on a great job! We also thank the UPS Corporate Division Teams who signed up! Your support is amazing! We’re already looking forward to next year!
